Do you have an ugly Christmas tree?
I was listening to NPR earlier this week and there was a great vignette about ugly Christmas trees.

I found myself reliving our Christmas tree decorating experience. We turn the tree and ornaments over to the kids and as you can see it has lots of ornaments jammed on the bottom limbs, it is filled with handmade ornaments from daycare and school, and topped with an angel made by my grandma. It is a small artificial tree with colored lights built in. While I would love a real tree, the stress of having a real tree during the busy holiday season is just not worth it for me.
It may not be pretty, but I love the tree because it reminds me of how we live our life.
We love our kids and try really hard to let them be kids, as messy and chaotic as that sometimes becomes.
